Create and celebrate!
This project was to create an e-commerce application that would become a direct competitor to one of the more popular applications out there in their respected interests. I was tasked to use multiple research methodologies to gain insight to the competition and develop an information system with wireframes that would be later user tested.

Goal
E-Commerce has expanded to become more than just shopping for apparel and housewares. Many are using crowdsourcing as a method of funding projects, personal and for market. Crowdsourcing platforms are providing people a platform to find others that belief in what they belief in and to support similar interests.
I wanted to explore this type of e-commerce because it beyond just shopping material items, its also about creating community.
My goal was to create an easy to use mobile app that provides a way to stay in contact with your found community and creators. Iām looking to make this a direct competitor to one of the more popular apps in their respected interests, i.e. product, community or special interest.
Competitive Analysis
Creating a competitive analysis allowed me to narrow in on what type of crowdsourcing I wanted to pursue for this mobile project. I found companies the provided a platform for people looking for funds for projects, events, and a subscription based model for content. I looked at the mobile applications for the 3 major crowdsourcing site on the market and found a subscription based model with a focus on community is the direction I wanted to go in. The current site leading this model has a least robust application for new consumers looking to find content and community.
With direction of my project made I started sketching and wire framing my initial solutions for my e-commerce app.
User testability
Once I finished with creating the wireframes I conducted a usability test using paper prototypes. In this stage in the design process I wanted to evaluate the app and the services with real users. Through this process, I was able to really explore and analyze the information and behaviors my recruits gave me during the interaction with the product. Which allowed me to reevaluate and create a more human-centric design solution.
